His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a cabinet meeting on Sunday, 21st March, and announced multi-entry tourist visas for all nationalities. According to him, this scheme will “strengthen the UAE’s status as a global economic capital”.

Furthermore, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also announced a remote work visa. This visa will let overseas remote working professionals to reside and dwell in the UAE as they continue with their work and connection with the world, virtually.

These new visa schemes stand latest in the group of most recent reforms in this regard.  The new visa scheme aims to boost the economy through helping investors, entrepreneurs and other qualified individuals.

The Multi-entry tourist visa does not require any guarantor. For each entry, the visa holder can stay in the country for up to 90 days, which is extendable by another 90. This visa is open to all nationalities and the visa holder can enter and exit the country as many times he likes.

The remote work visa is one year long that allows the professionals to work remotely while living in the UAE.  They can stay in the UAE under their own sponsorship.

Previously in January, the UAE had announced a law that would grant the Emirati citizenship to selected foreign nationals.

Other reforms included students being able to sponsor their parents and long-term Golden Visas.
